La Paz County Sheriff is Hiring an Office Manager Near Parker, AZ

Position Summary:

Under direction of the Department Head, performs administrative and supervisory work of considerable difficulty in directing the activities necessary to implement and manage coordination of the office, completes special project work and is responsible for representing the department in a professional manner and promoting the goals and objectives of the Department.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepares annual budgets for general and special funding;
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reporting; writes grant application requests;
  • Manages office and support staff;
  • Maintains personnel and attendance records;
  • Arranges office personnel travel and maintains travel records;
  • Assists support staff in clerical duties;
  • Initiates reimbursement, refunds and financial transactions; maintains records;
  • Prepares and maintains demand records;
  • Prepares meeting agendas and minutes;
  • Maintains and processes a variety of systems and reports;

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides hands-on coordination and preparation of all aspects of the department operations including, but not limited to; budgeting, reporting, preparing and executing contractual documents, project management.
  • Compose correspondence, prepare reports and other narrative material; maintain records, coordinate departmental activities.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Provide timely, accurate, professional and confidential administrative support
  • Meet required time deadlines for completion of reports.
  • Maintain a friendly, yet professional work environment and businesslike appearance.
  • Understand and interpret complex written documents and conduct research and prepare reports with sound recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Three (3) years of experience in an office support role

Knowledge, Skill & Ability:

  • Vast knowledge of office practices and procedures with the capability to perform administrative and supervisory functions.
  • Skilled in the use of modern office equipment and software.
  • Skilled at accounting procedures and grant management.
  • Ability to plan, implement, problem solve, and make effective decisions with little or no supervision.
  • Courtesy, tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to operate office equipment including computer, copy machine, fax, and telephone
  • Remain sitting for extended periods
  • Perform repetitive hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder motion for office and computer work
